White Christmas - but I really don't like snow
This morning around 9 it finally quit snowing. We have been in the throes of a winter storm, our second one in two weeks. It snowed continuously for 22 hours and we got around 30 cm of snow (1 foot for you 'Mericans). BLAH. It may be pretty, but it is messing up my plans and I am not happy about it. tonight we were supposed to go to the Canuck VS Ducks hockey game, but there is no way in hell we can get there. Our van is deeply entrenched in snow and the alley is treacherous. No way I am taking a chance with Donna out there. We could take the bus, but at this point that is also not a very good option as I have heard that some of the bus stops are knee deep in snow and the buses are just stopping in the middle of the street. Kind of hard to unload the wheelchair. We will just have to forego the game and have made 2 other people very happy by giving them our tickets. Here are a few picture that I snapped on my new camera. I haven't actually been able to leave my deck/apartment yet, so photos are somewhat limiting, but they will give an idea as to how much snow we have, which is unusual for the west coast. I took a couple of shots of the railing with the different levels of snow from one day to the next. Still not totally used to my camera. It is going to take a while. This is a photo of the bamboo plant on my deck from Saturday, Sunday and early this morning. It got a little more buried each day. I had to wade out on the deck after I took this picture and clean the snow off so it didn't break.
