Under The Bunyan Tree

Comments

This is such a great post.

I used to love going out with mom and dad, out to the boonies, usually along hydro lines, to search for the perfect tree... and we'd usually come home with a Charlie Brown tree, but it didn't matter.

To this day, I still usually end up with a Charlie Brown tree. :)

I worked for a short time in Port McNeill, so I know the area a bit, and I agree, quite a beautiful part of the province there.

The down side was I was working there over the winter, so was pretty much cold and wet every day. lol We did have some nice-weather days though, so it wasn't a total loss. :)
What a great Christmas story.
You should submit it to the newspaper.

Mothman - yes it can be pretty gloomy up there near Hardy and McNeill, but we loved living up there. We were there for 5 years and moved to Comox after that. Every year we were up there though at Christmas time we went out to pick out our tree. We got our own wood as well and it was so cold one winter we went through 8 cords! I did a lot of splitting that year.

Jeeps - Thanks for the comment. I am not sure it is newspaper worthy, but I will write it up and give it to my family in their scrap books I have made them.
